Darlot Site Overview

With over a century of mining history, Darlot is a cornerstone operation of Vault Minerals Limited producing high-grade gold production. The Darlot mine is located about 900 km northeast of Perth and 121 km north of Leonora, in the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.

The Jumbo Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate drilling of underground development headings in accordance with mine plans. This includes installing ground support, face preparation, and general jumbo operation duties.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Operate twin-boom and/or single-boom jumbos to safely and accurately drill development headings.
  • Mark up faces for drilling and ground support installation.
  • Install ground support including bolts, mesh, and straps.
  • Conduct scaling operations to remove loose rock.
  • Perform pre-start inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Liaise with engineers, surveyors, and geologists.
  • Undertake minor maintenance tasks on equipment.
  • Complete shift reports, drill logs, and maintenance logs.
  • Take responsibility for the underground nipper whiles assisting setup, bolting, meshing and boring.

About You:

  • Minimum 3–5 years recent experience operating Jumbo rigs in underground hard rock mining
  • Experience operating Atlas Copco, Sandvik, or similar jumbos
  • Current WA Manual Driver’s License (C-Class)
  • WA Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC)
  • Nationally Accredited Working at Heights Certification
