ABOUT CANNINGTON 

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

We have several permanent roles available on a 7:7 roster, 12.5hrs Dayshift/Nightshift rotating roster. FIFO from Townsville, Brisbane, and Cairns, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires. 

There is a clean-shaven policy at Cannington and smoking is not permitted during work hours.

As the Jumbo Operator, you will be responsible for the safe operating of jumbo and the correct installation of ground support. Utilising your technical skills to develop others within the development space.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Operate and maintain jumbo equipment safely and efficiently
• Complete face boring and meshing activities
• Execute work as per mine plans and designs
• Install ground support to required standards and specifications
• Follow safe work practices and procedures

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Solid experience working as a Jumbo Operator
• Proven experience operating SANDVIK Rigs
• Underground experience is essential
• Commitment to a positive safety culture

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Current C class driver’s licence (Manual)
• First Aid/CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain)
