Junior Estimator – Studies

Work Location: Perth - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Junior Estimator with strong numerical skills to join our Strategic Planning Studies team. Reporting to the Senior Estimator, this role is responsible for carrying out cost estimation activities to support progression of projects through the study stage gates for the portfolio.

 Key accountabilities will include:

• Develop and assist in setting up database for “Winest” and “Modelogix”
• Organize and maintain database of reconciled project costs for use in benchmarking
• Assisting in managing documents and vendor quotations
• Understand and summarise scope of works for comparison with recent completed projects
• Work across the business to contribute to and aligned estimation process

Qualifications and skills required:

• Candidates must be eligible to work in Australia (without requiring sponsorship)
• Degree qualified in Engineering (or equivalent) and/or relevant specific experience
• Experience in estimation within the resources sector will be preferable
• Knowledge and experience in Winest will be preferable
• Ability to adapt well to agile environments
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organisational and time management skills
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication and strong stakeholder engagement skills
• Computer skill with Microsoft Excel, Word and MS Office package is mandatory
