Cracow Mine are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the team. Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist, the role will involve providing analysis services and results to the Processing and Geology departments in a timely manner. This will be done through testing of metallurgical and geological samples with a high standard of analytical accuracy, through safe laboratory practices.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within gold processing operations and experience within a laboratory environment performing the following:
- Sample preparation – dry, sort, crush, pulverise.
- Aqua regia digestion.
- Atomic absorption spectrometry.
Further information about the role:
- Collect, prepare and analyse shift and daily process samples in a timely manner.
- Record and report all sample assays.
- Ensure adequate stock of consumables required to execute analytical procedures.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the Laboratory.
- Monitor Laboratory equipment for reliability and safety.
- Ensure Laboratory compliance with environmental policies and procedures.
- Continually monitor safety procedures in Laboratory.
- Report plant sample issues and problems to metallurgy team.
- Demonstrate behaviours aligned with the Aeris Resources values.
About You
- A minimum of 2 years mine site laboratory experience
- Knowledge of gold analytical procedures.
- Knowledge of gold processing operations is highly desirable.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work safely at all times.
- Competent user of MS Word and Excel
- Ability to prioritise and schedule work
- Current open drivers licence
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and national police check
Cracow is an Underground Gold Operation located some 500km North-west of Brisbane. Employing 220 people.
