Pastoral Access Coordinator

Work Location: Perth - Fortescue Centre & Bennett St. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday to Friday (with regular site travel)

We are currently seeking a Land/Pastoral Access Coordinator to join our Exploration team to be based in the Fortescue office in Perth.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Notifications to Pastoral Leaseholders in accordance with Tenement conditions.
  • Maintaining Pastoral Access registers accurately and diligently
  • Basic understanding of sequence of events with regard to Exploration and Mining operations, and related obligations such as Heritage and Environment
  • Compliance with law and codes of practice
  • Planning meetings and organizing project logistics
  • Assisting with all overall general Pastoral Access management queries to ensure effective administration and timely access for Tenements, Heritage, Exploration, Environmental, Water and Project teams
  • Occasional site visits to assist field team with:
    • Maintenance of department equipment, including trailers, tyres, portable stock yards, minor mechanical equipment
    • Maintenance of solar powered submersible pumps, tanks, stock watering
    • Fencing installation and maintenance
    • Weed spraying

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Experience working with land tenure legislation advantageous but not essential
  • Experience using databases and systems to manage application records and stakeholder communications
  • Farming or Station experience advantageous but not essential
