About the role
We are looking for a Land & Sea Ranger/Operator to support the team by performing day-to-day land and rehabilitation activities. This role is a great opportunity to take the next step in your career while enjoying a relaxed coastal lifestyle.

Reporting to the Supervisor Land & Sea, the role will entail the following:
Land rehabilitation duties
Prescribed burning
Nursery propagation
Noxious weed control
Identifying and implementing improvement work, production efficiencies, quality, process and procedures
Completing work sheets and recording data
Basic equipment and Vehicle maintenance duties
Performing work in a safe and efficient manner in order to achieve zero injuries
What you’ll bring
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
Knowledge of land rehabilitation practices
Knowledge in nursery propagation
Knowledge of prescribed burning practices
Knowledge of noxious weed control practices
It will be beneficial if you have experience in maintaining and repairing small engines and agricultural equipment
We are looking for Wik and/or Wik-Waya individuals to work with the team to ‘care for country’ within our mining operations.

Where you’ll be working
Our Weipa operations in Far North Queensland includes three bauxite mines, processing facilities, ship loaders, and export wharf, two ports, power stations, a rail network and ferry terminals.
Amrun, our newest mine, was completed in 2018 and will extend our Weipa bauxite operations by decades, significantly building on our 55-year history on the Western Cape and providing jobs and supporting business growth in the region. The mine is located on traditional land. We work closely with the Traditional Owners to implement our agreements, ensuring that the benefits generated from mining support future generations and that important cultural heritage sites are identified and preserved.
