HME Asset Performance Specialist

Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

Role overview:

The mission of the HME Asset Performance team is to "Quantify & communicate asset performance data to empower stakeholders to make the right business decisions". As the HME Asset Performance Specialist, you are responsible for leading the Asset Performance team and delivering on this mission.

To achieve this, you must (among other requirements):

  1. Be a strong leader and support your team to plan, execute and deliver on complex projects,
  2. Possess exceptional knowledge and ability across many domains including Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) and their applications in mining; computing/visualizing data; and industry best practices,
  3. Be an influential communicator that is able to clearly articulate technical topics to senior leaders & their peers.

By combining strong domain knowledge with outstanding communication skills, you identify valuable improvement opportunities and help ensure the focus of the HME Engineering team is appropriate.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the team of Asset Performance Engineers to achieve their mission
  • Proactively analyse asset performance data and identify improvement opportunities. Communicate these improvement opportunities to the appropriate stakeholders to drive adoption & implementation,
  • Manage and execute Key Improvement Projects as needed,
  • Ensure confidence in reporting through consistent quality control and assurance,
  • Grow & maintain strong engagement with site execution teams & other business stakeholders,
  • Manage the development and enhancement of reliability management systems, based on feedback received through strong engagement with end users

Qualification and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years mining experience in a mobile maintenance environment (essential),
  • Proven experience in developing data visualisations (including Tableau), structuring and storing data (including T-SQL & Snowflake) and developing software applications (incl. Python, C, .NET) (essential),
  • Experience in leading a team to deliver on complex projects (preferred),
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Mechanical or Reliability Engineering (preferred),
  • HME Condition Monitoring Experience / Certification (preferred)
