Position Overview:

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Lead Business Development professional to drive our business growth initiatives and expand our client portfolio. As the Lead Business Development, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust business development systems, converting information and insights into actionable business opportunities.

This role involves leading insight and analytics work, guiding lead generation efforts, and actively networking with clients and potential clients. The primary focus is on organic business growth through new contracts and renewals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain an effective Business Development management system that automates information management and consolidation.
  • Foster collaborative behaviours across internal stakeholders for real-time information updates.
  • Design and implement internal business development rhythms and routines to secure new contracts and clients.
  • Conduct business reviews on project performance to maximise lessons learned for future projects.
  • Develop and maintain a sophisticated model that converts information and insights on client/industry needs into favourable service offerings.
  • Provide the Executive Leadership team with robust strategic insights to ensure a positive pipeline of new work.
  • Maintain an up-to-date prospects database with relevant project and contact information.
  • Coordinate internal resources to foster relationships with clients and potential clients.
  • Develop relationships with clients, government regulators, consultants, other contractors, and suppliers to ensure general market awareness, including economic influences and forecasts.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in business development within the mining or related industries.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of business development systems and processes.
  • Excellent communication and networking abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to convert insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Proficiency in BD management systems and databases.
