About the role

The Supply function is the interface that connects the requirements from our Operations and other functions with the market, and facilitates the design of sourcing strategies and logistics solutions that enable the procurement and delivery of goods and services sustainably and responsibly.

In this role at South32 Illawarra Operations you report to the Snr. Supply Manager East Coast Operations and will be accountable for the delivery of the Local Sourcing Plan, a tool that captures the Sourcing Events required to enable the procurement of goods and services necessary to operate and support two mines, Appin and Dendrobium. To do so, the Lead Category is supported by three Sourcing Specialists.

Key accountabilities:

• Promote adherence to South32 Code of Business Conduct through all sourcing activities.
• Ensure currency and relevance of the Local Sourcing Plan.
• Ensure monthly and annual objectives on Local and Indigenous spend are met. 
• Chair the Illawarra Contracts Committee.
• Lead the Sourcing team in the design of value propositions and negotiation of contractual terms and conditions that deliver a balanced allocation of rights and obligations between South32 and third parties. 

About you

Enthusiastic, resilient, results driven. A natural leader with ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders at various levels of an organisation.  

To be considered for the role, you will have:

• Previous experience in Category Management, Project Management or Consulting.  
• Financial and commercial acumen (required).
• Legal acumen (preferred).
• Track record of delivering results in highly demanding, fast paced work environments.

Location

This position will be based at the Regional Operations Centre, Port Kembla Coal Terminal in Wollongong, NSW.
