About the Role

The Lead Data & Reporting is responsible for leading a small team of data and reporting professionals to enable timely and informed decision making through trusted coal value chain data and reports. The role has accountability for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data in BMA’s Production Accounting system (Corvus) and reports/dashboards that use this data. The role will be a “data quality champion”, contributing to IROC+’s data and reporting strategy and proactively identifying and resolving data quality issues in Corvus, reports or dashboards. The role will also lead data and reporting improvement projects and be capable at project planning, change management, communication strategies, influencing stakeholders on outcomes and ensuring that projects deliver on-time and on-scope. 

Reporting to the Manager Data & Reporting, you will work in a team of passionate and diverse data professionals who together enable timely and informed decision making through trusted coal value chain data. You will also work closely with Technology teams, site teams and Corvus data administrators. We are eager to engage with people who are focused on data quality, able to interpret Corvus for end users and be a ‘data interpreter’ for Production/Supply chain data.  We are looking for a leader who can problem solve data issues to their root cause, influence change and implement solutions.

Experiences for the role include:

  • Strong understanding of coal supply chain processes and data and coal production accounting requirements including stockpile and inventory reporting 
  • Experience working with a production accounting system (Corvus or similar)
  • Experience with data governance and implementing strategies/projects to uplift data quality
  • Analytical and investigative skills including the ability to identify the root cause of data issues and required solutions 
  • Ability to lead improvement projects and influence stakeholders regarding best practice of data management / data quality
  • Experience managing a small team of data and/or reporting professionals

About You

As the successful candidate you will possess the following: 

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant field or extensive experience related to Supply Chain Production Accounting·
  • Extensive experience in the use and configuration of Corvus (or ability to gain this knowledge rapidly)
  • SQL skills and PowerBI or similar data visualization tool (or ability to gain this knowledge rapidly)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with an ability to translate complex data systems/issues for the non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with data governance and data quality and implementing strategies or projects to uplift data quality of the Production Accounting System and reports/dashboards.
  • Able to identify the root cause of data issue, identify solutions and the manage outcomes through to completion
  • Confidence to raise data quality issues with stakeholders, challenge the status quo and contribute to IROC+’s data strategy
  • The ability to work as a team with other Data & Reporting team members
