Lead - Drilling Operations

The Opportunity – Permanent, Full Time Position

A rare opportunity to join the Greenfields Exploration team as Lead – Drilling Operations, where you willhavesingle point accountability for the development, continuous improvement and implementation of global drilling standards and practices that deliver world class performance in the areas of HSEC, productivity and quality. To ensure consistent and reliable delivery against Greenfields Exploration objectives.

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Greenfields Exploration and Geoscience, while working closely with Greenfields Exploration management team, key role accountabilities include the following:

• Ensuring the requirements of the Greenfields Exploration safety management system, including Drilling Requirements, are executed consistently and reliably at all Greenfields Exploration operations.
• Through visible felt leadership, working with drilling contractors, technical & operational service providers and Greenfields Exploration field teams to lift and align safety and operational performance.
• Accountable for the on-ground and in field implementation of the established Greenfields Exploration operating model, against the principles of modularity, scalability, repeatability, and consistency
• Working hand in hand with the Contract Management, Regional HSE and Exploration teams to assess, select and onboard suitably competent and compliant drilling contractors.
• Accountable for the application and continuous improvement of drilling standards, technology, innovation, and practices to achieve objectives of quality, cost and reduced cycle time.
• Establishing and maintaining a global network of pre-qualified drilling contractors and service providers, who have demonstrated performance against HSEC, equipment and people capability.
• Working with JV project teams and business partners prior to JV formation to improve safety awareness and performance.
• Coach and develop Greenfields Exploration field teams and Drill Crews/Drilling Contractors

About You

You will be required to have the following:

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in drilling/drilling supervision and hands on drilling experience
• Contract management experience
• International experience
• Visible safety leadership and sound risk assessment and management
• Previous experience in development, planning and execution of exploration work programs
• Performance management, including measurement, tracking, and reporting of operations project delivery and results
• Stakeholder Management experience, with demonstrated ability to influence, communicate and engage with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the team.
• Possess superior attention to detail, particularly under tight time pressures, to maintain the right ‘client service’ approach and perspective with respect to the team, internal stakeholder

• Planning and coordination - Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
• Judgement - Independent and pro-active problem solver able to work within a small globally distributed team.

Qualifications

• Hands on drilling experience in one or more drilling types (preferably diamond and RC).

This role will be based at our corporate office in the heart of Perth CBD, negotiable for the successful candidate
