Lead Estimator - Decarbonization
Location: Perth / Bennett Street Office
Roster: Monday to Friday

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Estimator to provide guidance and assistance in preparing and reviewing progressive project developed estimates across our renewables power projects and associated site infrastructure.
Reporting to Manager Project Controls, you will be required to interface and support the numerous work streams of the decarbonisation initiative teams from across the broader Fortescue family throughout the lifecycle of the portfolio of projects.
We are seeking a key participant in a high performing team who consistently demonstrates leadership, is proactive and takes ownership of their outputs, is courageous and will engage in constructive conflict with the view to continually improve objectives and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and support in delivering Class 5 (Parametric) to Class 2 (Bottoms up) Estimates.
- Custodian of the decarbonization estimate standards and norms database
- Assimilate and prepare estimate rates and associated preamble
- Lead preparation of critical portfolio estimates in conjunction with the Project Teams
- Analyse estimates and identify / ensure portfolio synergies are considered
- Review project estimates for consistency and application against required estimate classification
- Analyse cost risk and recommend strategies for risk mitigation
- Contingency assessment and advice
- Provide estimation support in commercial tender price schedule setup and evaluation
- Monitor project commitments for feedback into future estimation rates
- Assist with analysis of commodity and resource budget, performance, utilisation and forecasts
- Prepare and deliver stakeholder presentations
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Technical Qualification or Equivalent experience in a similar opportunity
- Quantity Surveying Qualification desirable
- At least 10yrs experience consisting of at least 2 years working in an owner team and 8 years of Engineering Procurement Construction Management
- Advanced Excel essential
