About the Role

This is an opportunity to express your interest in joining a team that embraces diverse talent, working together in a safe environment and delivering strategic outcomes.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated team. The role will require you to be proficient in the operation of majority of machinery and equipment on site including the dozer, grader, loader and excavator and demonstrates ownership of work area. This role consistently assists with the coaching and developing other Operators in order for them to develop proficiency in their operational skills. This position is predominantly (90%) excavator operation and is accountable for the safety & efficiency of their circuit.

Our fleet at Yarrabee comprises of Liebherr: 9350, 984, 995, 996 & 996B, Hitachi 8000-7 along with a combination of Komatsu 830E, Caterpillar 789 & brand new Hitachi 5000 dump trucks.

Roster: 4 Panels, 7:7, rotating Day/Night shifts, 10.5hrs

About You

 As an experienced Excavator Operator in the Mining Industry you will posses the below attributes:

• Previous experience in the operation and maintenance of Excavators and other plant and machinery within a mining or heavy industry environment (5yrs + desirable) 
• Thorough understanding of individual responsibilities in relation to the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and associated regulations.
• Sound communication skills within a mining environment
• Skilled in hazard identification and responsive to safety issues
• Demonstrated team building and leadership qualities
