Title: System Integration Lead Engineer - Fast Charger

Work location: Perth based (Redcliffe WA)

  • Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

Roster: 5/2 Roster (Mon to Fri)

In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet

  • Key accountabilities will include:

  • Lead the integration, validation and testing of the Fastcharger project within Green Fleets portfolio 
  • Responsible from start to finish of all V&V activities to ISO/IEC and relevant standards
  • Working in collaboration with the broader multidisciplinary engineering team  to achieve system level testing and integration
  • Develop technical specifications to meet project specific objectives.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopes.
  • Resolution of technical and design issues.
  • Ensure compliance to the product development process by project owners
  • Provide guidance regarding project budget, cash flow and schedule for existing and future projects

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Electrical/Mechatronics/Mechanical/Software Engineering degree
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in this field
  • Experience in Systems Engineering highly regarded
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and/or lead small engineering teams
  • Experience with mining equipment designs are highly desired
  • Experience with SiL & HiL frameworks
  • Matlab Simulink / Altair Activate experience desired
  • High commitment to safety
  • Experience with SAP work management
  • Experience in preparing detailed scope of works
  • Experience in participating / coordinating in the purchasing tender process
  • Experience in contractor engagement and contractor management process
