About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity available within the Functional Performance and Improvement (FP&I) team.  In this role as the Lead Principal Performance and Improvement, you will be responsible for leading moderate complexity studies and improvement initiatives, which includes working with cross-function global teams. FP&I’s portfolio is diverse and has high visibility and potential impact, being directly sponsored by the ELT and focused on cross-functional opportunities delivering enterprise value.

Key role responsibilities will include:

  • Lead project scoping exercises to define high level delivery plans, project methodology and resource and funding requirements as input into planning
  • Define, plan and execute the E2E delivery of moderate complexity, ELT endorsed studies and improvement including problem solving and analysis, customer and stakeholder engagement, solution design, development, delivery and embedment 
  • Mobilise and lead cross functional initiative teams throughout delivery, including partnering with Functions (e.g. Technology) where required
  • Assure risks to value delivery are documented, communicated and mitigated
  • Senior stakeholder engagement, primarily VP and Head of initiative sponsors, and occasionally ELT exposure
  • Provide feedback and coaching to junior FP&I team members (Principal Improvement) to enhance their performance and development
  • Support the identification and assessment of value for opportunities through the FP&I planning and prioritisation process

This role will be located in either Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth or Singapore.  With flexible work arrangements offered.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have experience leading, supporting and delivering large-scale, high-value improvement initiatives and projects.  You will be able to effectively support the identification, scoping, planning and delivery of improvement initiatives / projects. You will utilise your strong analytical skills and sound business acumen.

You are able to establish credibility through your technical ability and excellent communication skills. An ability to constructively question ideas and build trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders is essential. 

You will bring a sound understanding of key business performance drivers and will have demonstrated experience working within an innovative, best practice continuous improvement function.

  Energetic and results-orientated, you work well under pressure and are comfortable with ambiguity. 

As a successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Demonstrable experience managing the delivery and realisation of large-scale and complex improvement/transformation projects.
  • Experience in project management. This includes scoping, planning and delivery using a disciplined approach to attain project goals.
  • Proven experience working with or on multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience in managing senior relationships within large organisations.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Previous mining or asset-intensive industry experience is preferred
