About the Role

BHP has a permanent opportunity to join the Functional Performance and Improvement (FP&I) team as an Organisational Change Management (OCM) professional.

FP&I is a strategic partner for large scale cross-Function initiatives and transformations in BHP. FP&I supports the Functions across all stages of the improvement process for strategic improvement initiatives. With an exciting and diverse remit of global projects, the FP&I team is looking to recruit an experienced change practitioner to join our team in Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore.   

We are looking for strategic, dynamic and seasoned program change professional to fill the Lead Principal Performance & Improvement OCM position.

Joining a team of organisational change practitioners, you will work in a highly connected global pool of change experts to:

  • Create focus on the opportunity, value and purpose of the changes.
  • Listen to, coach and enable Leaders to successfully lead our people throughout the changes.
  • Draw on insights and experience to inform project decisions to realise and embed the desired changes. 
  • You will have responsibilities including:
  • Act as the Program Change Lead for a large global improvement initiative and direct the work of other change practitioners.
  • Provide expert consulting style advice to leaders on change strategies, change risk and change leadership.
  • Lead the development of complex change management strategies and measurements.
  • Design end to end change plans and work with a team to execute change activities to plan.
  • Develop change sustainability plans and monitor the effectiveness of change success measures.
  • Support in uplifting the OCM capability of other OCM team members, project teams and business stakeholders.

About You

As a senior change management professional, you will have prior experience as the change lead on large scale projects for a complex, multi-location and diverse organisation.

You will possess mastery level technical change capabilities, including demonstrated experience in the development of program and enterprise level change management approaches, including the creation and execution of impact and risk assessments, communications, stakeholder engagement and workforce transition plans, culture and capability activities. You will also be highly skilled in a variety of methodologies that enable relevant change design and delivery that support value realisation e.g. systems and design thinking, data analysis, problem statement definition etc.

As a strategic thinker, you are skilled at presenting and articulating solutions in a logical and concise manner that will meet business objectives and outcomes. You are at ease when engaging with a wide array of stakeholders where you are able to draw on your key strengths to effectively communicate, influence and coach.   This role would suit a seasoned career change manager who possesses consulting experience and wanted to be part of internal change management practice.
