About the role
We are looking for a Lead Project Data Controller to oversee all aspects of project documentation and information management across multiple projects. You will be working across several projects concurrently and be required to confidently adapt to varying project requirements and respond to complex queries.
This role ensures robust data structure, control, governance, and seamless handover processes. It is a great opportunity for a highly motivated professional to play a pivotal role in ensuring data integrity and efficient information flow across all project phases, while leading data governance, supporting project teams, and driving continuous improvement in documentation practices.
Reporting to the Superintendent Project Data Management and working in a high‑performing and complex project environment within our Projects team, you will:
Establish and manage Project Data Management (PDM) frameworks and systems to ensure accurate, secure and accessible project records
Develop and maintain information management processes aligned with regulatory, contractual and company standards
Provide document control and information governance support to project teams, including guidance on best practices and compliance
Lead and monitor PDM service delivery, embedding KPIs, tracking performance and driving continuous improvement across internal and external teams
Oversee project document control setup, tool deployment and data handover at key project stages
Build capability through onboarding, training and ongoing support in PDM systems, including InEight and Power BI reporting
Engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders, acting as the escalation point for documentation and information management issues
Deliver timely reporting, contractor governance and ad hoc support to ensure consistent global standards and effective collaboration
About you
To succeed in this role, you will have:
A strong commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
Proven experience leading teams of 5 or more, with the ability to drive performance, accountability, and engagement
The ability to effectively manage competing priorities and transition across multiple projects within a fast-paced environment
Deep experience in Document Control, within fast‑paced project environments, ideally in mining or similar industries
Significant experience operating at Senior Document Controller or Lead level, demonstrating leadership, sound judgement and strong governance capability
Extensive experience in document control and information management across the full project lifecycle
Strong understanding of data governance, compliance and end‑to‑end project documentation requirements
Proven experience managing contractors, including end‑of‑cycle and handover documentation
High level of technical proficiency in document management systems, with strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Your excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills will see you excel in this position. Tender experience is also highly regarded.
