About the Role
We have multiple opportunities for an experienced Specialist and/ or Lead Mine Planning Engineers to support Central Region Complex. Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Planning, you will contribute to the tactical mine plan and schedule for the Complex to support business decision making and manage risk. This is a great opportunity to develop and hone your technical and leadership skills as well as enabling and maximising value for the Complex. Use your already solid operational knowledge and experience in this busy and challenging tactical mine planning role to engage with key stakeholders to ensure business and operational requirements are met. This role is based at Brisbane working Monday to Friday, offering flexible work arrangements. This role requires occasional site travel.
About You
As a successful candidate, you will possess a tertiary qualification or extensive experience in mine planning with previous experience working at an open cut coal mining operation. You will have:
- Demonstrated strong commitment to safety leadership;
- Demonstrated experience in operational design and planning;
- Proficiency with prominent mine design and scheduling software packages such as SPRY, Vulcan, Deswik CAD and Deswik Scheduler;
- Ability to embrace change and strive in a continuous improvement environment; and
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will allow you to work closely across a variety of operational and functional teams to deliver a safe and stable mine plan aligned to the site and business direction. You will utilise BHP Operating Systems to lead mine planning improvement initiatives, build and maintain trusted relationships across departments and communicate effectively with disciplines at all levels.
