ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent 9-day fortnight with flexible working arrangements – Worsley Alumina DIDO based at the Worsley Refinery near Collie.  The Technical Lead for Medium-Term Planning will use their deep understanding of the Bayer process to set the technical direction in the medium-term planning time horizon (+2 years). This role is the key interface linking the technical direction of Concept Studies, Major projects, and LoOP to the best overall future outcomes for efficient Refinery operation, bauxite transition, impurities management, decarbonisation, water, and other refinery efficiencies.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

Technical

• The Technical Lead for Medium-Term Planning sets the technical direction for the +2-year horizon, using their Bayer process expertise.
• They ensure alignment with Refinery Technical and Operations teams within the 0–2-year operating window.
• This role links Concept Studies, Major Projects, and the Life of Operations Plan (LoOP) to future refinery outcomes.
• Focus areas include bauxite transition, impurities management, decarbonisation, and water efficiency.
• The role drives refinery efficiencies and supports long-term operational goals.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Lead innovative initiatives that enhance process optimization and refinery performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pioneer breakthrough solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying emerging trends and integrating best practices.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational goals.
• Lead safety initiatives with a focus on process safety improvements.
• Influence others effectively and build strong working relationships.
• Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills for sound decision-making.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Process Control Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemistry or equivalent

• Minimum 10 years’ experience.
