About the Role

As one of Australia’s largest mines and most complex minerals processing operations, it’s quite unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well-equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project and People Leader covering Technology or Operational Projects to join our team.  Reporting to the Manager Delivery Olympic Dam, the purpose of this role is lead 6-12 direct reports focused on supporting delivery of Capital Projects through direct embedment or Technology Component Work Packages (TCW). To ensure Projects are developed, executed in line with BHP Technology and Cyber security Industry standards. This role is providing the conduit between BHP Technology and Project Delivery Groups (PDG) at Olympic Dam.

Please note this position is 5:2 Monday to Friday based in Adelaide with travel as required.

In this role you will:

  • Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills across covering varying Internal and external functions, teams or partners to ensure Capital Projects are provided with compliant Technological solutions covering CCTV, Process Control, Cyber, Information and Operational Technology, Networking and Hosting, 
  • Establish and maintain mutually beneficial stakeholder relationships covering Engineering, Governance, and Projects. Through routine engagement and service awareness,
  • Support and lead teams to understand and correct problems at the root cause. 
  • Forecast and track functional team labour requirements.
  • Leverage your experience and history in Project Delivery through industry project frameworks (BHP Small and Medium Project framework, PMBOK, Prince 2, Agile),
  • Identify opportunities to optimise value, manages associated risks and applies Optimised With/Optimised Without framework principles to create and preserve maximum value. 

About You

You will have a proven track record of successful front-line leadership of teams.  The results you have achieved will demonstrate your ability to engage, lead change and influence others. Technology leadership experience is essential, and you will have experience across all remits of operational and Information Technology spaning, networks, infrastructure, hosting, cyber security, process control, CCTV and more.

Your ability to lead a team of direct and functional teams to meet project constraints will be second to none, as will your ability to take a systems engineering view to problem solving and communication will be critical to this role, as will be the strong desire to motivate and lead your team.  Stakeholder engagement and strong decision making balancing the needs of Technical expertise and project outcomes will be required to maximise performance.
