About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Delivery, we are seeking a Lead/Superintendent Technology Delivery to lead the MinAU Coal Technology Capital Portfolio. This role provides end-to-end leadership across a diverse portfolio of technology investments, ensuring safe, compliant and predictable delivery of outcomes that sustain and improve operational performance.
The role is offered with flexible working arrangements, with regular engagement across site and regional stakeholders to support effective delivery.
Your key responsibilities in this role would be:
- Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainability across all delivery activities.
- Lead the MinAU Coal Technology Capital Portfolio, providing clear direction, priorities and routines to deliver a portfolio of technology projects safely and predictably.
- Lead and develop a team of approximately 25 (predominantly Project Managers/Specialists, Business Analysts and Supervisors), building capability, accountability and a high-performance culture.
- Own portfolio delivery performance - define success measures and drive outcomes across scope, schedule, cost, risk and benefits realisation.
- Execute governance discipline across the lifecycle (initiation, study, execution and transition to operations), including quality of scope, estimating, scheduling, change control and assurance.
- Partner with business and operations leaders to shape and sequence work that sustains asset integrity and improves operational performance.
- Oversee delivery across key technology domains, including OT and IT infrastructure, networks and communications, cyber uplift, hosting and backup, application programs, end-user computing, control systems and SCADA.
- Lead commercial and vendor management - support sourcing strategies, contract formation, performance management and issue resolution to maximise value and reduce risk.
- Establish and maintain strong stakeholder engagement and communications, including facilitation of workshops and forums to align decisions, resolve interfaces and remove delivery blockers.
- Manage financial controls for the portfolio - forecasting, cost reporting, variance management and timely escalation of issues and options.
- Identify and manage delivery risks using the relevant risk management framework, building a risk-aware and control-focused culture.
- Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, benchmarking and standardised delivery practices to improve predictability and reduce waste.
- Contribute to annual and multi-year planning cycles (for example 5YP and 2YB), ensuring a realistic and prioritised pipeline with clear delivery plans.
About You
You are a delivery-led leader who builds trust through clear priorities, disciplined execution and practical stakeholder engagement. You bring a strong customer focus and can translate business needs into an achievable delivery roadmap, balancing risk, value and operational impact.
To be successful in this role you will be an effective people leader and a collaborative communicator with the ability to manage multiple priorities, influence decisions, and deliver outcomes in complex operational environments.
You will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in technology delivery, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated leadership of a significant project or program delivery functions ( >$70M), including portfolio governance, prioritisation and performance management.
- Proven experience with financial rigour on cost control ,contract management, embedding project governance, and senior stakeholder engagements.
- Experience delivering technology projects in operational environments, including one or more of OT and IT infrastructure, networks and communications, cyber uplift, hosting and backup, end-user computing, digital and data, and control systems and SCADA.
- Strong safety leadership with a proven commitment to safe and compliant delivery.
- Commercial and vendor management capability, including contract performance management, negotiation support and issue resolution.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting and managing delivery trade-offs to protect value.
- Proven ability to build high-performing teams through coaching, clear expectations and constructive feedback.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence decisions and align diverse groups.
