Title: Lead Traction Systems Engineer
Roster: Monday to Friday
Work location: Perth WA (Relocation provided)
Key accountabilities will include:
- Lead and deliver Traction systems solutions for Rail Locomotives or Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) for Green Fleet Development projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner
- Review and validation of various Traction System engineering designs / specifications and associated components
- Providing technical assistance on Electrical / Electronics Systems related works being carried out
- Develop technical specifications to meet project specific objectives
- Review / mark up engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopes
- Resolution of technical and design issues
- Proactively deliver on the company’s stretch targets
- Ensure compliance to the project management process by project owners
- Liaising with a range of key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects
- Providing regular updates to the Principal Electrical Engineer including work progress, risks, and priorities
Qualifications and skills required:
- Significant year of experience with Electrical systems engineering
- Strong Product design and development experience and background
- Electrical, Electronics Engineering degree, preferably a qualification in Power Electrical/Electronics Engineering
- Experience with Rail Locomotives / Heavy mobile equipment desirable
- Traction system experience desirable
- Knowledge of relevant Australian / International standards and regulations associated with electrical design, installation, and testing
- Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and in multidiscipline teams
- High commitment to safety
- Team leadership experience desirable
- Excellent interpersonal awareness skills with ability to work well in a team
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for excellence
- Results driven, responsible and accountable
- Capable of prioritising and delivering work in a fast-moving environment
- Ability to adjust to change quickly and adapt to new requirements
