The Role

We are currently seeking suitably experienced and qualified personnel for the position of Leading Hand Boilermaker to carry out all 'hands-on' aspects of new build buckets and refurbished buckets at our Port Hedland workshop.

Reporting to the Boilermaker Supervisor, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work and lead the dayshift crew on the manufacture of new and refurbishment of a variety of buckets and perform the following duties:

  • Manufacturer new backhoe and face shovel buckets.
  • Carry out extensive refurbishments on large backhoe and face shovel buckets.
  • Arc air gouging and welding flux core.
  • Ensuring all maintenance repairs are performed in accordance with company guidelines and within cost targets; and
  • Complete required company QA/QC documents.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated Leadership skills.
  • Significant post-trade experience with heavy earth moving equipment; namely Caterpillar, Komatsu, and Hitachi.
  • A strong commitment to safety, health, and the environment, with a proactive approach to housekeeping.
  • Relevant nationally recognised trade qualification.
  • Current Driver's license;
  • Applicants holding current Working at Heights and High-Risk Licenses highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solution focus.
  • Ability to work as part of a cohesive team.
  • A keen eye for detail, presentation, and craftsmanship; and
  • The successful candidates may also be required to complete inductions, will be required to be medically fit and able to pass a drug and alcohol test.
