Yarrabee Coal Company is a wholly owned subsidery of Yancoal Australia, based in Blackwater Queensland, which is a couple hours west of the Capricorn Coast. Operating continuously since 1982 Yarrabee has a strong long term future outlook for ongoing coal production.

The site employs a workforce of approximately 400 people, which proudly boasts it's integrated close knit culture of people who collectively pull together as a team. Yarrabee Mine's long history and strong future creates an exciting challenge for developing and navigating the requirements of the future.

Yarrabee is a subsidery of Yancoal Australia which is Australia’s largest pure play coal producer. It boasts three tier one thermal coal mines in New South Wales together with interests in three other metallurgical and thermal coal mines located in New South Wales and Queensland. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Leading Hand to join our energetic Maintenance team in Blackwater.

About the Role

Reporting to the EEM the Leading Hand – Electrical is to oversee the maintenance of the Yarrabee site electrical equipment, in fit for purpose state and ensure compliance to the site electrical management plan. This role is responsible for the sustainability of site power installations for the continuous operations of the Yarrabee site.

The role also ensures the following at Yarrabee Mine; electrical safety, adequate electrical maintenance of installations is undertaken, standards of electrical practice are set and maintained, compliance to site and statutory standards are monitored and undertake engineering projects as directed

Roster: 7/7 Permanent Dayshift

About You

To be successful in this position you will hold the below qualifications & experience;

• Trade Qualified and hold a current Electrical Licence
• S1, S2 and S3 – Supervisor Competencies
• Possess and maintain a current motor vehicle driver licence.
• Standard 11 Induction
• Proven previous experience in a supervisory or step-up position
• Proven previous experience with fault finding on heavy mining equipment

Skills & Knowledge

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
• Strong SAP and Work Management skills
• An ability to develop people through providing direction, coaching, recognising performance and leveraging their diversity of skills and experience
• Working knowledge of general mining equipment and the fundamentals of equipment maintenance
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
• A strong team player with the ability to influence and contribute towards team success
• Proficient user of computer and full range of Microsoft programs
