The Position
Emeco has a Leading Hand Heavy Diesel Technician opportunity at Saraji Mine in the Bowen Basin, QLD. Reporting to and supporting the Maintenance Superintendent, this role provides mechanical and fleet optimisation leadership to a team of site-based maintenance technicians.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Demonstrating a commitment to safety and provide leadership in this area. Ensure that all work being performed by Emeco staff are done in line with company HSE standards and site requirements.
- Participate and contribute to incident investigations conducted by Maintenance and HSE Supervisors and Superintendents.
- Manage conflicting priorities to ensure all unplanned and planned fleet maintenance and optimisation targets are met on time and within budget.
- Actively support and facilitate individual performance objectives of your team.
What we are looking for
- A strong commitment to safety.
- Proven site-based leadership/supervisory maintenance experience.
- Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication for developing effective relationships and team atmosphere.
- The ability to assess mechanical works coming into the workshop for maintenance, diagnose faults and prepare a detailed scope of work.
- Ability to make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Ability to meet and exceed deadlines and financial budgets in a safe manner.
Requirements
- Recognised National Trade Qualification
- Current Standard 11
- Supervisor Qualification S1,2,3 and G2
- Proven experience and/or recognised training with CAT and Komatsu HME
- High level of understanding of maintenance and reliability principles
- Experience in a contracting environment and proven customer focus
- Proven experience in a similar role
