The Gwalia Gold Mine is located three kilometres south of the town of Leonora, Western Australia. Macmahon is proud to be able to deliver a whole of mine service including mine development, ground support, production drilling and blasting, loading and trucking, shotcreting and paste fill reticulation.
The Macmahon Underground team is seeking for a Leading Hand HD Fitter to work FIFO on a 8:6 off roster from Perth to project site.

Working closely with Shift Supervisor the Leading Hand HD Fitter will assist with delivering our daily goals in a safe and efficient manner.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Leading a team of maintenance technicians in the execution of planned and breakdown maintenance activities
Coordinating and prioritizing maintenance tasks to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime
Conducting inspections, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues to ensure optimal equipment performance
Collaborating with other departments to optimize maintenance processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a positive safety culture
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Substantial experience in maintenance within the mining industry, with a focus on heavy mobile & underground equipment
Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate and engage a team
Strong technical knowledge of underground mining equipment and maintenance practices
Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
Essential requirements:
Hold Relevant Trade Qualification
Previous experience working on the equipment listed below
Sound planning and organisational skills
Proven ability to operate in a safe and efficient manner
Current Driver's Licence

As a part of the recruitment process for this role if successful you will be required to complete a pre-employment medical, including laboratory drug and alcohol screen and complete criminal history and qualification checks.
