Force have exciting new opportunities for experienced Leading Hand Heavy Diesel Plant Mechanics to lead small teams of trades. Repairing a variety of surface mining & heavy earthmoving equipment at our Port Hedland Workshop.

Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the Force workshop team in the areas of quality and productivity and ensure that all works completed are in line with Force’s safety plan.
- Assess mechanical tasks coming into the workshop for maintenance, diagnose faults and prepare a detailed scope of work, including parts.
- Effectively manage workshop personnel
- Ensuring all maintenance repairs are performed in accordance with company guidelines and within time & cost targets.
- Perform scheduled preventative mechanical servicing on various models of heavy earthmoving equipment.
- Contribute to skills development of apprentices and ensure effective knowledge and skills transfer to less experienced tradesmen.
Required skills/experience & attributes:
- Recognised National Trade Qualification (Heavy Diesel Mobile Plant)
- Hold a current High-Risk Licence - Forklift
- Australian Drivers Licence
- Prior demonstratable leadership experience
- Experience working on CAT, Hitachi & Komatsu mining / heavy earth moving equipment.
- Experience in a retailing environment and proven customer focus
- A 'can do' attitude - A passion for CAT mechanical rebuilds & ability to make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on developing effective relationships and team building.
- Strong ability to assess mechanical tasks coming into the workshop for maintenance, diagnose faults and prepare a detailed scope of work, including parts.
- Ability to deliver to deadlines and ensure operations are performed safely in accordance with Force Equipment guidelines and cost targets; and
- A high level of integrity & accountability of remit.
