About the role

We are looking for a Leading Hand to assist and support the Supervisor with the maintenance and coordination of Heavy Mobile Equipment fleet maintenance, breakdowns, periodical shuts, light mobile equipment scheduled and non-scheduled work, tyre maintenance and projects.
This is a great opportunity for an individual with a strong background in mobile maintenance to work in a fast-paced environment. You will have a high accountability for timely maintenance execution to ensure the smooth running of our mobile fleet and resolve issues that have the potential to significantly affect the performance of our reliability and availability of our HME and LME fleets.

Reporting to the Supervisor MEM and working 7 days on; 7 days off roster, locally in Karratha/Dampier you will be:
- Assisting the supervisor in providing, visible leadership on the shop floor and actively demonstrating and promoting an interdependent safety culture
- Leading by example with regards to safety and personal conduct, and in line with HSEQ standards, HR policies and “The Way We Work” at all times
- Cover the supervisor leave requirements and oversee the day-to-day activities of your team to ensure scheduled work is completed and any corrective action is completed with minimal impact on operational requirements
- Ensuring effective communication between all teams and support staff and communicating business/department priorities to the team in a timely manner
- Using your trade skills to work on required MEM plant as part of the maintenance team
What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Relevant Heavy Plant Trade qualification
- Demonstrated practical experience in a mobile equipment maintenance role
- Proven previous experience in a supervisory or step-up position.
- Exposure to safety systems within a large mining company
- Working knowledge of general mining equipment and the fundamentals of equipment maintenance
- An ability to develop people through providing direction, coaching, recognising performance and leveraging their diversity of skills and experience
- Strong SAP and Work Management skills
- Current C Class driver’s license
- High Risk Work License (LF, CN, RG, DG) will be highly regarded
- Strong SAP and Work Management skills

Where you’ll be working
Dampier Salt Limited (DSL), located in Western Australia and comprising three solar operations – Dampier, Port Hedland, and Lake MacLeod – is the world’s largest exporter of seaborne salt, with capacity to produce approximately 10.3 million tonnes every year.
At our Lake MacLeod operations, we are also mine and export gypsum to customers in Australia and Southeast Asia.
