About the Role

Reporting to the Housing Offline Maintenance Supervisor the Leading Hand Technician will assist the Maintenance Supervisor with Contract Management, Scheduling, accounts and Work management duties in 1SAP & Fiori. Step up Supervision of the team and contractors when required and undertaking day-to-day co-ordination of maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and liveability in our Port Hedland residential houses.

This is a permanent position based in Port Hedland offered on a FIFO basis, working a 7 on / 7 off roster.  

  Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Effective contractor management, ensuring quality delivery of goods and services as per contract
  • Liaising with tenants and scheduling planned work
  • Provide multi-skilled technical, leadership and field support to the team 
  • Active involvement and good understanding in the corrective and preventative maintenance planning process
  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
  • Provide field support and in-depth knowledge of repairs, replacements, fault finding and improvements 
  • Ensure compliance with safe systems of work, HSE systems and processes
  • Provides Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to support teams to resolve priority issues
  • Provide Leadership for accuracy and quality of work delivered, supporting the Supervisor in ensuring compliance
  • Execute the Maintenance work plan and elevate unplanned and non-routine activity or performance to the Supervisor.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

•    Trade Qualifications preferred but not essential  (Plumbing, Electrical, Plumbing, H/vac) •    Contractor management experience is desirable •    The ability to interpret and read maintenance plans and technical information  •    Computer Literacy to use the following systems - 1SAP, Fiori, MS Excel and Word, Console Cloud, Power BI •    Valid Australian C class driver’s license •    Mix of experience in both Domestic work and Mining Operations •    A proven track record of safety management  •    Must be able to work at a high standard autonomously •    A multi-tasking team player who can also work in a stand-alone capacity •    Excellent communication and relationship management skills •    Confidence to speak up •    Good communication skills both written and verbal
