We’re currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Learning and Development Officer to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your administrative expertise in a supportive environment that values safety, growth, and innovation.

You’ll play a key role in coordinating training activities, supporting our workforce, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the Learning and Development function.

Reporting to the Superintendent - Learning & Development and working in a diverse team, your key responsibilities will be:

Training Coordination & Support

  • Schedule and manage third-party training bookings
  • Create, update, and cancel training sessions as required
  • Send timely reminders and respond to trainer queries
  • Provide high-quality customer service and general training support
  • Assist with scheduling, data entry, and administrative tasks
  • Manage competing priorities while maintaining confidentiality

Inbox & Document Management

  • Maintain the LS Scan inbox and upload qualifications into SAP
  • Redirect incomplete documentation to appropriate contacts
  • Archive hard copy records for trainers

Procurement & Supplies

  • Order crib supplies and stationery for training needs
  • Source quotes for goods and services

Facilities & Maintenance Coordination

  • Raise maintenance requests and liaise with vendors
  • Ensure timely resolution of facility-related issues

Where you’ll be working

Our Weipa operations in Far North Queensland includes three bauxite mines, processing facilities, shiploaders, an export wharf, two ports, power stations, a rail network and ferry terminals.Amrun, our newest mine, was completed in 2018 and will extend our Weipa bauxite operations by decades, significantly building on our 55-year history on the Western Cape, and providing jobs and supporting business growth in the region. The mine is located on traditional land. We work closely with the Traditional Owners to implement our agreements, ensuring that the benefits generated from mining support future generations and that important cultural heritage sites are identified and preserved.
