Leasing Specialist – Commercial Property

Work Location: Perth - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

You will assist across all aspects of the property transaction from market reporting through to lease disposal and be responsible for the development of contract documentation (Heads of Agreements and Leases) in support of Fortescue’s global property portfolio. You will perform detailed financial analysis with strong reporting and data analytic skills & undertake physical property inspections with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertake due diligence and market searches for commercial properties in line with business requirements.
  • Assist with the coordination of the global leasing portfolio and monitor upcoming lease expires.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain analytics systems, taking raw data and building simple reporting frameworks. 
  • Develop well written and structured reporting documentation that supports scenario planning and business practice.
  • Assist with the negotiation process of property leases and licences.
  • Perform inspections at the commencement, during and close out of leases. 
  • Identify costs savings and value creation opportunities across the property portfolio.
  • Perform detailed financial and cashflow analysis of potential commercial property outcomes. 
  • Actively promote effective communication and relationships with all other interfacing disciplines, both internal and external.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Significant experience in commercial real estate
  • University degree in commercial/business related discipline highly desirable.
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Required to be commercially astute and familiar with the fundamentals of property leasing and commercial real estate.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining data systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, and data reporting capabilities. 
  • Highly organised, able to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple activities and prioritise accordingly.
  • Proactive and goal orientated with attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer focus and stakeholder engagement across multiple disciplines, both internal and external.
  • Self-motivator, team player with a flexible mindset and challenges traditional thinking.
