Light Vehicle Mechanic

THE ROLE

We are looking for dependable and committed Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our Maintenance team for work at our Daisy Milano underground mine located approximately 50 kms south-east of Kalgoorlie. Working autonomously, you will be responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the Daisy Milano mine by servicing and maintaining the fleet of vehicles to maximise availability and ensure safety of our personnel.

Key areas of responsibility for these roles include:

• Preventative and breakdown maintenance on light vehicles (Toyota Hilux and Landcruiser), Integrated Tool Carriers and Flatbed trucks
• Fault finding using both diagnostic equipment and driver interaction
• Inspect, test drive and issue roadworthiness directions prior to return of vehicles
• Proactively ensure preventative maintenance schedules are followed to minimise vehicle downtime
• Undertake air-conditioning system maintenance, re-gas and repair
• Ensure high level of record keeping and condition monitoring reports are prepared and issued as appropriate
• Undertake and report on exhaust gas testing
• Ensure all isolation and safety procedures are followed and upheld

Your strong safety focus, coupled with your exceptional problem solving and fault-finding ability, will see you become a valuable asset to the Maintenance team.

You can demonstrate you have:

• Current Western Australian Automotive Trade Certificate
• Minimum 5 years post trade qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance, particularly in Toyota Hilux and Landcruiser brands.
• Automotive Air Conditioning Refrigerant Handling Licence is essential
• Demonstrated experience in maintaining a commercial mining fleet of vehicles
• Minimum C class driver’s licence
• Demonstrated ability to follow health and safety regulations & systems
• A safe, pro-active, preventative maintenance mentality
• Be a self-starter with a strong and consistent work ethic

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an established and stable operation on an 15:13 day shift only roster. Ideally you will DIDO from Kalgoorlie and surrounds, but FIFO from Perth will also be considered. You will play a key part in the Maintenance team and contribute to the smooth operation of the Daisy Milano Mine.
