About the Role
Reporting through to the Supervisor for the mobile equipment, this role will provide vehicle maintenance support with focus on availability, reliability and quality maintenance.
We are seeking a diverse and talented individual to take on the role of Light Vehicle Technician at Nickel West operations.
Your duties will include:
- Vehicle maintenance in all areas of Light/Medium commercial vehicles, including; Light vehicles, buses, generators, lighting plants and forklifts.
- Following specific maintenance programs and procedures
- Operation of mobile equipment within limits of competence, training and experience
- Carrying out checks on equipment as required
- Accurate completion of technical documentation, reports and drawings as required
- Use of computerised maintenance systems (SAP), including time confirmations, raising notifications and closing work orders
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with rescheduling of work, organising and coordinating resources, scoping of work and determining priorities when required
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assist in the implementing of the new initiatives in a constructive way
- Executing tasks to a high standard and in a timely matter
About You
As the successful candidate you will ideally possess the following:
- Must have Automotive Mechanical Trade Qualification
- Relevant experience in a large scale mining operation is preferential
- Preferably experience with Toyota Land Cruiser, Hilux, Coaster bus
- Experience working with Failsafe wet brakes is favourable but not required
- Strong vehicle mechanical and maintenance competency, with sound diagnostic abilities
- Australian manual C Class driver’s licence
- Forklift licence, EWP, working at heights, CV (Hiab), CN (non slewing crane)
- Strong computer skills – using Microsoft Office suite, SAP, Excel
