About BHP BOS Program
BHP is deploying a global program of work, known as the BHP Operating System (BOS). It is the next step in our continuous improvement journey and a critical part of our transformation that will shape BHP’s future and build a better BHP with a more empowering culture.

About the Role
Reporting to the Site Coach, the Line Coach is accountable for supporting the sustainability and maturity of the BHP Operating System (BOS) deployed at Saraji Mine. Working with the site Department Managers and Superintendents, you will directly support the site to sustain BOS as our improvement engine.
BOS is a way of leading and working that makes improvement part of what we do every day and focuses on Serving Our Customers, Pursuing Operation Perfection and Empowering Our People.
Your key deliverables include:
- Coach and build capability of the Manager, Superintendent and Specialists/Supervisors to reinforce and sustain the BHP Operating System
- Facilitate training to front line leaders
- Supervise the Line Technical Specialists & provide guidance to BOS Champions.
- Identifies, implements, and evaluates the success of continuous improvement activities/initiatives to improve the safety, effectiveness and efficiency of BHP systems and processes.
- Applies an understanding of the business context, BHP operating system and ways of working to enhance decision making, productivity and value chain performance.
- Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs.
- Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.
This role is located at Saraji Mine working a Monday to Friday roster. We have flexible travel options including FIFO, DIDO or residential housing options.
About You
We are looking for individuals that possess business knowledge, demonstrate excellence in leadership on a day-to-day basis, who are innovative with a bias to action, effectively influence others, and have a strong ability to build capability in others and lead change.
As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
- You have experience in business improvement, operational leadership or as a technical leader
- Exposure to mining, maintenance or processing is ideal but experience in other industries that utilise an operating system founded on lean principles would be highly regarded (e.g. manufacturing, health, finance, logistics, etc.)
- You will have an understanding/exposure to continuous improvement methodologies and organisational change
- You will be able to establish credibility as a trusted advisor and through your strong improvement, leadership, coaching and communication skills
- You will be comfortable with ambiguity, complexity and delivering outcomes in a matrix environment using your collaboration, engagement, influence and coaching skills.
