About the Role
BHP through its WAIO and Operations Services Assets are Changing the way we work to engage highly capable people to maintain & ensure the reliability of our business critical equipment; Shiploaders, Reclaimers and Stackers. Through standardising our work practices and enabling our teams to deliver safe, high quality maintenance every time, Operations Service & WAIO strive to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value with 0% waste whilst supporting our teams and individual employees. We are seeking a talented individual to take on the role of Line Engineer/ Specialist Improvement based within our Operations Services Maintenance team. Reporting directly to the Superintendent Maintenance, this role is responsible for the safety, standardisation and productivity related projects.
Your duties will include:
- Foster positive & productive working relationships and team culture
- Set and maintain clear safety standards within the leadership team
- Lead safety investigations and risk assessments
- Build capability through coaching, mentoring and provide technical advice and support OS maintenance supervisors
- Lead and support continuous improvement opportunities
- Experience with business improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing, and use of data management and analysis tools would be highly beneficial.
About You
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Strong communication skills and a track record of achieving results through using your influence
- The ability to successfully lead and work within a team environment and build effective working relationships
- Project Management and/or engineering experience is preferred, not essential
- Effectively identifying ways to eliminate hazards, waste and variability
- Experience or a fast learner with work management software tools (e.g. 1SAP)
- Experience in detailed scoping and maintenance planning for multi-disciplined workgroups
- Experience gained in a shutdown environment would be advantageous
- Demonstrated computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
- Minimum of C class manual drivers licence.
