About the Role

One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities. Reporting to the Lead BOS this role will drive continuous improvement on the frontline and sustainably embed new ways of working through the implementation of BHP Operating System (BOS) and Standardised Work (SW) across our Olympic Dam operations. 

This position is based at Olympic Dam and is offered on an 8/6 residential, FIFO (from Adelaide) or DIDO basis.

In this role you will:

  • First and foremost, focus on creating a culture of care and be a visible safety advocate
  • Facilitate problem solving sessions with the frontline to identify the root cause of problems, collaboratively problem solve and explore opportunities to implement SW and BOS tools
  • Assess and recommend focus areas and activities with a focus on unlocking value
  • Guide and work with relevant stakeholders to design, build, test and deploy practical solutions to improve work methods (i.e. tooling)
  • Coach and support the frontline of SW and BOS tools implementation through role modelling, knowledge sharing, coaching and training
  • Analyse, report and present on the progress of and changes to the implementation of SW and other BOS tools to Management and stakeholders
  • Lead and/or implement a process improvement or change management, including facilitating problem solving sessions
  • Critically observe, coach and providing feedback to peers and leadership on improved ways of working
  • Introduce innovative ideas and technologies to be a change agent, to effectively implement and sustain BOS
  • Influence and work with teams to collaboratively solve problems, while applying systems thinking and analytics to drive decisions and improvements

About You

  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or industry experience
  • Expertise with identifying, developing and implementing improvement initiatives for operational procedures 
  • Continuous improvement and problem-solving methodologies experience
  • Ability to listen, understand and take technical data into consideration in making decisions
  • Experience independently identifying process problems, using tools to determine the root causes and implementing  solutions
  • Proactive customer focus and ability to understand their values and needs
  • Ability to implement and sustain change management
