Loader Operator

The Gwalia Gold Mine is located three kilometres south of the town of Leonora, Western Australia, and has been a flagship asset for our client St Barbara for the past 15 years. Macmahon is proud to be able to deliver a whole of mine service including mine development, ground support, production drilling and blasting, loading and trucking, shotcreting and paste fill reticulation from May 2021. The Gwalia mine is the cornerstone of Leonora operations and has strong margins supported by good grades and a focus on costs and returns. The site has a track record of continuous improvement, with a recently upgraded mine ventilation system, and a previous significant upgrade of the accommodation village that incorporated a number of energy efficient and environmentally friendly initiatives.

The Macmahon Underground team are seeking Loader Operators to work on a 2/2 roster, FIFO from Perth to project site.

You are responsible (but not limited) to the following:

Load trucks for the removal of broken material from the mine;
Remove broken dirt stocks from active headings and leave headings in good condition for drilling;
Dump dirt in stockpiles when and as required;
Maintain roadways and loading bays , cleaning up spillage;
Conduct heading clean ups as required;
Assist with the installation of services, including ventilation;
Recording of all shift data and the completion of daily inspection reports

To be considered for this position you must be able to demonstrate the following;

Extensive experience as Underground Charge up Operator.
C Class Drivers Licence 
Dangerous Goods Security Card
Working at Heights Card
