About the Role

An opportunity exists for an experienced procurement professional to fill the role of NPI and Logistics Specialist as part of the WAIO Procurement team. 

Reporting to the Lead NPI & Logistics Procurement, this role is responsible for the procurement and contract support for our aviation, facilities management, logistics, power and water services. The role will also be responsible for delivering improvement initiatives based on local insights and global best practice.

The primary responsibility of this role is to drive world class sourcing and administration of contracts for aviation, facilities management, logistics, power and water services through:

  • Ensuring the appropriate allocation of risks through the selection of the most effective commercial pricing models
    • Providing contract management support to NPI & Logistics contract owners throughout the contract life-cycle
    • Providing contractor and contract performance monitoring and reporting to support the NPI & Logistics Category (KPI reporting, spend analytics, contract variations incl. claims management, and off-contract spend)
    • Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to become a highly valued contract expert, trusted with commercial support, to lead negotiations with vendors and provide on-going contract management up to and including close-out
    • Builds strong relationships with our contracting partners to identify and drive value adding improvement initiatives at a supplier level
    • Ensuring consistency & high performance against procurement KPIs
    • Pursuing commercial excellence through continuous improvement
    • Application of sound commercial judgement around application of contractual terms and conditions to ensure the contractors performs their obligations under the contract
  • Supports direct tendering, negotiation & implementation of complex and high value contracts to reduce total cost to the business as required
  • Supports Strategic Sourcing or Procurement Process improvement projects 
  • Develops and implements advanced commercial techniques to leverage value creation opportunities.

About You

We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate the following:

  • Pragmatic commercial outlook and exemplary judgement (balances business value vs. risk) to deliver best outcome for WAIO.
  • Strong analytical skills 
  • Demonstrated experience with contract law or contract management.
  • Collaborative mindset and advanced interpersonal skills.
  • Highly capable in building constructive long term relationships.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in complex and ambiguous environments.
  • Autonomous, detail oriented, organised, and objective. 
  • Advanced communication skills enabling the influencing of a diverse stakeholder group (frontline to executive).
