About The Role
Gunnedah Basin Haulage (GBH, previously known as BIS) is a fully owned subsidiary of Whitehaven Coal. We currently have a new opportunity for a Logistics Manager to join our business in a key leadership role.
Reporting to the GM Operations, you will be responsible for providing safe direction and management of the Logistical Operations of haulage and maintenance for our Gunnedah Open Cut Operations.
This role is based in the Gunnedah / Narrabri region of NSW.
What You’ll Do
- Short, medium and long term management of our 35 strong haulage fleet, including management of various contractors
- Manage all aspects of haulage, planning, allocation, maintenance, leading production, performance and scheduling
- Manage a small team of 5 direct reports on a daily basis
- Play an active part in leading Safe working practices across the business
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in Fleet Management and Logistics performance managing over 26 combinations
- Experience in Road Train Haulage and Scheduling to optimise performance
- Leading people to achieve growth and development
- Contribute to the development of a positive and collaborative organisational culture
- Experience with Cost Management including forecasting and reconciliation
- Support the development of a safety culture where safety is an integral part of ‘the way we work’
- Familiar with fatigue management systems
