We are looking for an experienced Long Term Planner to support the day-to-day and long-term strategic maintenance, reliability and engineering functions at Power Supply Department.
This role is a great opportunity for a highly motivated, results driven individual with a continuous improvement mindset.
Working Monday to Friday 5/2 Roster and reporting to the Power Supply Superintendent, you will:
- Action incoming work requests and allocate work tasks to the team.
- Optimise equipment and resource availabilities.
- Create annual team budgets and maintain master data records.
What you’ll bring
- A Demonstrated experience in Planning / Scheduling with a high proficiency in SAP.
- A highly organised, structured & detailed approach to planning with a strong commitment to safety.
- Ability to prioritise and coordinate large volumes of multi-discipline work for compressed air, natural gas and High Voltage Assets.
- Strong ability to analyse relevant performance metrics and determine improvement actions
- Excellent communication skills via all mediums with the ability to negotiate positive outcomes across multiple stakeholders.
- High level of numeracy, literacy and computing skills.
- An Electrical trade background is essential.

Where you’ll be working
Boyne Smelters Limited is Australia’s second largest aluminium smelter with a 1,000-person strong workforce. Located approximately 20km south east of Gladstone at Boyne Island on the Central Queensland coast, BSL produces around 500,000 tonnes of aluminium per annum.
Activities at BSL include manufacturing carbon anodes in the carbon plant, aluminium production (smelting) in reduction lines, and casting of molten material into aluminium products ready to ship. The smelter is connected via a conveyor belt to the Queensland Alumina Limited refinery for the supply of alumina.
