Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Longwall Coordinator will work closely with the Longwall Engineering team to effectively co-ordinate all Longwall operational activities including Longwall relocations.

• High Quality planning to maintain engineering maintenance and operational systems & standards.
• Maintaining & enforcing operational automation systems & standards
• Implementation training requirements for the crew in the Longwall to achieve forecast tonnages. 

Skills and Experience

• Statutory Mining qualifications (minimum of Deputies Practicing certificate, Undermanager’s practicing certificate highly desirable)
• Mechanical or electrical trade (desired, not essential)
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current Drivers License
• Risk Management Training, (Minimum of G2 level)
• Excellent planning, coordination & Communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of statutory laws and regulations governing underground mines.
• Ability to source and analyse data to facilitate management decision making.
• Very good interpersonal skills, including excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Essential Criteria

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Underground coal mining working in Longwall operations
•  Experience managing Relocation and Installation of Longwall equipment.
•  Experience and sound knowledge of Longwall equipment Automation systems
•  Experience and sound knowledge of Longwall equipment engineering maintenance systems
•  Experience and sound knowledge of Longwall production systems.
