About the role:
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Longwall Electrical Engineer to join our Wambo Mine. Our Wambo mine complex is an underground mine located 30 kilometres west of Singleton that produces metallurgical and thermal coal for export and domestic markets.
Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, the scope of your role will be to supervise the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of electrical plant and installations in the Longwall area of the mine.
Duties will include:
- Planning and co-ordination of all electrical activities relating to the longwall
- Longwall electrical maintenance strategies including work order compliance
- Management of the longwall electrical budget and cost control
- Reviewing longwall electrical reliability and continuous improvement
- Improvement of longwall electrical procedures and processes
- Providing technical leadership for the longwall department
- Support to the longwall team to ensure production and safety targets are met
The lifestyle: This position is offered on a Monday to Friday roster with one rostered day off per month and can allow for a residential lifestyle.

About you:
- Previous underground longwall experience is required.
- NSW Electrical Supervisors Licence (or state equivalent).
- EEHA (Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas) competencies.
- High Voltage Switching competencies or willing to obtain.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety with well-developed behavioural leadership skills.
- Ability to coach mentor and develop a team of longwall electricians to deliver operational performance and excellence.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with a desire to collaborate with peers to meet business goals.
