Who we’re looking for

Reporting to the Mobile Fleet Reliability Specialist, you will be accountable for the safe and effective operation of the onsite oil laboratory 

Key deliverables of this role include:

  • Collection and daily prep of samples to run through the onsite oil lab
  • Prepare the monthly oil analysis report and maintain the site oil schedules
  • Supportive function of maintenance groups on site by providing fast equipment health reporting
  • always ensure departmental compliance of the site safety procedures and practices, work management procedures, and common industry best practice for all Lubrication works
  • Continuously improve systems and procedures
  • Supervise, train and mentor the Fixed Plant Lubrication Technicians and Oil Laboratory Technicians in line with industry standards and Newcrest Values
  • Administration of the site oil analysis database
  • Assist the reliability groups when conducting root cause analysis and providing lubrication solutions

We are looking for qualified and safety-focused individuals with:

  • Extensive and relevant experience as a Laboratory Technician working with Mining or Oil and Gas industries 
  • Mechanical background in Fixed plant or Mobile fleet maintenance will be highly regarded
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills and willingness to work and participate in a team environment 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Sound understanding of oil types, classifications and recommend uses
  • SAP experience is advantageous
  • ICML MLA 1, 2 or 3 is advantageous or other relevant hydrocarbon training 
  • C class driver’s license
