The company is scheduled to commence production at its Iron Bridge magnetite mine in mid-2023. Iron Bridge is Fortescue’s US$2.6 billion project, set to deliver 22mtpa of high grade 67% Fe magnetite concentrate product. Located 145km by road south of Port Hedland, the mine will deliver an innovative process design and industry-leading energy efficient operation.

Iron Bridge represents Fortescue’s latest operation culminating in a new Ore Processing Facility (OPF) /Concentrate Handling Facility (CHF) , new technologies and camp facilities.

Lubrication Specialist

Work Location: Iron Bridge OPF & CHF - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

The role will be based at Iron Bridge OPF but will required occasional travel to the CHF at Port Hedland based on operational requirements.

Roster: 8D:6R FIFO ex Perth

The Lubrication Specialist will be responsible for focusing on the lubrication of the production plant, production assets, and all associated infrastructure. This role will have several Lubrication Technicians reporting into it. The successful candidate will involve in building the team, developing their capabilities, and securing the ongoing success of the team and the overall Lubrication function. This position will report directly to the Supervisor Condition Monitoring and Lubrication

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Ensuring departmental compliance to site safety procedures and practices, work management procedures, and common industry best practice for all lubrication work.
  • Assist, coach and mentor the team, executing quality inspections, repairs, and maintenance of fixed plant equipment.
  • Ensure team compliance to CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System - SAP) and continuously improve systems and procedures.
  • Supervise, train and mentor the Lubrication Technicians in line with industry standards.
  • Liaise with key stake holders to assist with scheduling tasks for upcoming maintenance and operational work.
  • Lead the team of lubrication technicians to ensure compliance to maintenance schedules.
  • Oversee and manage the team, conducting root cause analysis and providing lubrication solutions.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • LCAT2 or MLA1 Qualification (Required).
  • Mechanical Trade Certificate (Desirable)
  • 5 Yrs. post-trade mining/heavy industry lubrication experience (Required)
  • Current Driver’s License (C class unrestricted manual) and Forklift license (preferred or be eligible to obtain)
  • SAP competency (Preferred)
  • Hydraulic systems experience (Desirable)
  • Excellent understanding of contamination control and lubrication best practice (Required)
  • Comfortable with using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Teams)
