The Gwalia Gold Mine is located three kilometres south of the town of Leonora, Western Australia, and has been a flagship asset for our client St Barbara for the past 15 years. Macmahon is proud to be able to deliver a whole of mine service including mine development, ground support, production drilling and blasting, loading and trucking, shotcreting and paste fill reticulation from May 2021. The Gwalia mine is the cornerstone of Leonora operations and has strong margins supported by good grades and a focus on costs and returns. The site has a track record of continuous improvement, with a recently upgraded mine ventilation system, and a previous significant upgrade of the accommodation village that incorporated a number of energy efficient and environmentally friendly initiatives.
The Macmahon Underground team is seeking for an LV Fitter to work FIFO on a 2:2 roster (day & night shift included) available from Perth to project site.
To be considered for this position you must have;
• Australian recognised Trade Certificate
• Proven experience in the repairs and maintenance of small fleets and site vehicles (Toyota 4WDs, Bus Commuter, etc); minimum 3 years’ experience.
• Dedicated commitment to safety and quality assurance
• Exceptional diagnostic and troubleshooting / interpretive skills
• Previous experience in the mining industry or large scale operations;
• Physically fit for the demands of the role;
• Minimum of a manual HR class driver's license
• IT Loader – Volvo 120
• Toyota Land Cruiser LV’s
To be successful in this position you must have;
• Trade qualifications relevant to mining equipment maintenance
• Complete & understand all relevant work instruction
Successful applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment medical which includes a drug and alcohol screen as well as obtain a National Police Clearance.
