Trucks Machine Inspector

Work Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

Roster: 8D/6R - FIFO ex Perth

Our Solomon mobile maintenance team is seeking a qualified HD Fitter for a machine inspector role to carry out pre-service inspections, audits and minor repairs on Haul fleet/water carts specifically CAT 793F CMD,785D.  This role will work largely autonomously conducting planned inspections daily on our truck fleet.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Detailed inspections of mobile equipment and minor repairs
  • Creating notifications / work orders in SAP and ordering parts
  • Ensure all activities undertaken are carried out in accordance with company safety policy and procedures
  • Conduct MCORS pre & post inspections and contribute to work scope
  • Liaise with reliability engineers to conduct fleet analysis and provide support to the onsite Supervisor

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Certificate III in Automotive Heavy Duty Plant Technology or equivalent is essential
  • Demonstrated and significant experience working in mining on heavy vehicle maintenance preferably haul trucks
  • SAP CMMS systems knowledge and application
  • Westrac SIS 2.0 knowledge
  • Current C Drivers Licence
