We are looking for a skilled and safety-focused Boilermaker to join our Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) team at Gove. In this role, you will carry out welding and fabrication tasks to support the maintenance and reliability of our mobile fleet, including haul trucks, loaders, graders, and other heavy equipment.
This is a FIFO position from Darwin or Cairns, working an 8/8 roster (4 days, 4 nights, 8 off).

What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the HME Maintenance Supervisor, you will:
- Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks on heavy mobile equipment.
- Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
- Conduct inspections and identify potential issues before they become problems.
- Work collaboratively with other trades and teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What you’ll bring

- Trade qualification as a Boilermaker or Fabricator.
- Experience working on heavy mobile equipment in mining or industrial environments.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques.
- Ability to work in hot weather environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a drive for continuous improvement.
- Good time management and a team-oriented mindset.

Where you’ll be working
Our Gove Operations have been supplying the global aluminium industry with world-class bauxite for more than 40 years. Located in Australia’s Northern Territory, the operation produces approximately 12 million tonnes of bauxite annually.
With a workforce of 460 people, daily activities include mine operations, maintenance, asset management, shutdown planning and execution, export operations, cultural heritage management, and closure activities following the 2017 decision to close the site’s alumina refinery.
We expect our bauxite mining operations on the Gove Peninsula will cease in 2030. We are committed to working together with Traditional Owners to achieve a positive future for Nhulunbuy and the Gove Peninsula post-mining.
