Yancoal MTW are currently looking for an enthusiastic and driven HV Electrical Maintainer to become a valued member of our team.

About the Business

We are Australia’s largest pure-play coal producer generating over $10 billion in Foreign Direct Investment; owning, operating or participating in coal mines across NSW, Queensland and Western Australia. 

Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is one of the largest open pit operations in the area. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both draglines and load haul systems as the current and preferred mining method. Our site operates continuously 24 hours a day, seven days a week and has a long and proud history, employing approximately 1350 people from local and surrounding communities, who are our most valuable asset. Cameby- Managed by Yancoal, Cameby Downs is a small open cut thermal coal mine in the Surat Basin in southern Queensland, between Chinchilla and Miles. We employ approximately 150 people, and aim to support our local communities.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the execution of planned maintenance and breakdown repairs in our Infrastructure team. You will be working on a range of equipment including buildings, welders, generators, pumps, lighting plants, substations, and switchyards. You will be working the 2 panel – day work roster, Monday – Sunday.

•    High Voltage Electrical Trade Qualification; •    Proven Heavy Industry experience; •    Excellent communication skills; •    Proven ability to work safely in a team environment; •    Proven skill in diagnostic problem; •    Demonstrated ability to produce a high quality of work; •    Ability to problem solve technical issues quickly and efficiently.

The following skills are not essential however are desirable: •    SAP experience; •    High Voltage Switching; •    Industry relevant qualifications (high risk tickets); •    Knowledge of planning / scheduling and risk assessment process.
