About the role

We are looking for a motivated a Maintenance Mechanical Maintainer to join our safety-focused and high-performing Maintenance team at our Gove operation, you will be integral to maintaining assets within our maintenance management framework. Your role will involve applying work management processes to efficiently execute maintenance tasks allocated, ensuring the ongoing reliability and functionality of our assets.

What you’ll be doing

Your primary responsibilities will include performing maintenance tasks, identifying defects, providing feedback on asset performance through our asset management system, and supporting defect elimination processes. Additionally, you will contribute to work management analysis and asset tactics reviews to enhance overall asset performance. Ensuring adherence to work order/job instructions and conducting post-maintenance equipment commissioning and clean-up activities will also be part of your duties.

Where you’ll be working

Our Gove Operations have been supplying the global aluminium industry with world-class bauxite for more than 40 years. Located in Australia’s Northern Territory, the operation produces approximately 12 million tonnes of bauxite annually.

With a workforce of 460 people, daily activities include mine operations, maintenance, asset management, shutdown planning and execution, export operations, cultural heritage management, and closure activities following the 2017 decision to close the site’s alumina refinery.

We expect our bauxite mining operations on the Gove Peninsula will cease in 2030. We are committed to working together with Traditional Owners to achieve a positive future for Nhulunbuy and the Gove Peninsula post-mining.
