About the role

We are looking for a Maintainer (Mine Water Management) to be part of the Gudai-Darri Site Services Team. The role is a great opportunity for a safety conscious individual looking to continually improve and contribute to our culture and world class asset.

Working a FIFO 8 days on, 6 off roster and reporting to the Infrastructure Supervisor, you will be: 

  • Carrying out scheduled Site Infrastructure and Dewatering Maintenance, areas include Minesite buildings, water treatment plants & water supply bore fields.
  • Installing and servicing submersible and sump pumps
  • Carrying out breakdown repairs, areas include Minesite buildings, water treatment plants & water supply bore fields.
  • Support the safety culture and ensure that the RTIO core values are always adhered.
  • Responsible for identifying critical infrastructure spares and maintaining accurate inventory.
  • Identifying Improvements with maintenance tactics and site infrastructure.
  • Providing operational feedback to supervisors and being responsible for following Rio Tinto Iron Ore safe work practices 
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of all task instructions and procedures to ensure they are always adhered to.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping in and out of the workshops and other areas to ensure a safe work environment and effectively managing risks.
  • Working proactively and efficiently in a team environment
  • Conducting Water quality testing
  • Will be required to conduct task outside your work role (general maintenance works)

About you To be considered for this role, you will have: 

  • Australian Driver’s License (C-class) Manual
  • Trade Certificate – Plumbing and Gas Fitting
  • Poly Welding Trade Cert (preferred)
  • Working at Heights and Confined Space (preferred)
  • High Risk Work Licenses (LF, WP, DG) – (preferred)
  • Commitment to health and safety
